Peake Releaf’s Spring Maryland Cannabis Events Digest 2019

It’s apart of our mission to do whatever is (ethically) possible to bolster patient advocacy in Maryland.

So far we’ve covered tips for discussing medical cannabis with your family and community.

And we also push for an inclusive experience for all patients, especially those of color who may have paid a major price thanks to the War on Drugs. (We’re still looking for your stories addressing the racial disparities!)

With winter breaking, we have a slew of events for you to attend that express our support for cannabis’s advancement in Maryland. And all that begins with you and bettering your experience with our growing medical cannabis program.

Here’s our digest of cannabis events in Rockville for 2019 that we hope to see you at! They’re in chronological order with accompanying links so you can register and get more details about it.

National Medical Cannabis Unity Conference

Kicking off this week, you can meet up with a Team Peake member at the National Medical Cannabis Unity Conference on Monday, March 18 – Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Located at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., it’s hosted by Americans for Safe Access Unity. They’ll be focusing on “The Price of Being a Medical Cannabis Patient.”

As you may be familiar with, there can be many social and financial hurdles involved with attaining and maintaining one’s medical patient status. And at this conference, you can make your voice heard and contribute to developing strategies to ease the burden on patients.

Similar to NORML’s lobby day, you’ll have the opportunity to speak to members of Congress to push for change.

We’ll be attending, so if you need a pal, reach out!

Puff & Paint

Have you been itching for a date night with your 420-friendly significant other or best friends beyond the confines of your home?

Even if you haven’t, our partner Mary Jane of Maryland pre-emptively answered your prayers with an upcoming Puff & Paint night! On Wednesday, March 27 at 6-9PM, patients with varying levels of artistic talent will band together at the Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, MD.

Your skills don’t matter—having fun does and they’ll make sure you have a great time! Medicating is allowed on the premises for registered patients, so confirm your attendance by emailing Mary Jane of Maryland at info@maryjaneofmaryland.com.

Alternative Healing Workshop (FULL)

This cannabis event is located in Rockville, Maryland in the conference room of our dispensary on Saturday, March 30 at 2PM!

The Alternative Healing Workshop took months to plan to ensure the best educational experience.

It’s for the Equipment Connections for Children, a local Montgomery County non-profit that provides low cost and free mobility equipment to children in need.

Our Clinical Director Dr. William Gamez helped plan the workshop and will present:

  • up-to-date information on treatment with cannabis
  • info on Maryland’s statewide program and regulations
  • certification requirements

We’ll also have two guests!

Jennifer Brown, a nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork. She’ll present techniques to help promote relaxation with greater body awareness.

And Carol Richardson, a meditation teacher, energy healer, hypnotherapist and author. She will present on the benefits of meditation and mindfulness.

Registration is full but keep an eye out for similar future events!

Western MD CannaCrawl

CannaCrawl is a traveling educational adventure for patients who want to connect with others and explore dispensaries in metropolitan areas in Maryland. The ride comes with plenty of fun, food, free stuff and the chance to win a canna-basket of goodies!

Departing from Cumberland, MD, hop aboard and pay us a visit. We’d love to see you, so sign up before we sell out!

And check out other ones. There’s a trip to Baltimore as well as a cooking class on deck, so register as soon as you can.

Cannabis Science Conference

Coming up April 8-10, we have the Cannabis Science Conference. Hosted in Charm City Baltimore, this is the first time it’s on the East Coast. What a privilege to put Maryland on folks minds!

What do you know–we’ll be there too. If you’re into the nerdy and most fascinating side of cannabis, join us in connecting with canna-science enthusiasts from all over.

Did you see Weed the People when it was in theaters?

If you did, this is an opportune time to meet Ricki Lake, who aided in its creation and promotion! Other celebrities in cannabis you may get to hug are Montel Williams and Abby Epstein, who directed Weed the People.

If you missed it, it’ll be screening again at the National Aquarium in Baltimore for The Cannaquarium Experience on April 9. And as a conference attendee, it’s only an extra $10.

Grab your tickets and tag us on social media. Who doesn’t appreciate having pals for big events?

TRIO annual conference

On April 13, our Clinical Director Dr. Gamez is presenting at TRIO’s annual conference in Cockeysville.

It’s a great Maryland cannabis event to attend if you or a loved one is a transplant patient. And of course use medical cannabis to manage your ongoing discomfort.

It’s the only transplant organization in Maryland and it’s very free!

Head to their site to register by April 8 and to read more about what you can anticipate.

4/20 is Coming

The promised day of cannabis will soon be upon us, so what can you expect from Team Peake? If you’re treating for body conditions, you’re just in luck.

On 4/20, we’re hosting a wellness event with a certified physical therapist. They’ll discuss and demonstrate physical therapy tips you can combo with your medicine to improve your quality of life. Less pain is always a win, right?

Come catch great deals and ways to optimize your experience in our conference room!

For those hitting bigger events, our team will be at the Charm City SmokeFest (we love loving Baltimore!) and the National Cannabis Festival (NCF) in D.C. (for those who want to stay closer to home).

We’ll have a booth at NCF, so let us know if you’re going!

Peake Releaf’s 1st Cannaversary

Busting into May is our 1st Cannaversary on May 11! It’s been quite the run and we’re glad you’ve joined our journey.

We’ll be highlighting different growers and processors. And it wouldn’t be a celebration if we didn’t cut you some sweet deals all week.

Make sure you’re signed up for text alerts, our newsletter, our social media and keep up with our blog posts to learn what goodies we’ll have for you.

Come see us!

And there you have it! Most of our plans from March to early May in one post. Make sure to check your calendar and join us whenever and wherever you can.

And don’t forget to follow us on social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
